Their unique design makes them universal tools for easy microbial monitoring of flat and curved surfaces. The choice of formulations includes total count media as well as selective media for yeasts and moulds, and for coliform organisms. Each contact slide is welded shrink-wrapped into a resealable sleeve to enable individual strips to be safely sterilised a number of times by peroxide gassing.

Omschrijving: Een breed scala aan HYCON® Agar Strips is speciaal beschikbaar voor RCS® Microbial Air Samplers. Er zijn verschillende total count media, selectieve media voor gisten en schimmels, coliforme organismen en stafylokokken. Gamma-bestraalde producten in steriele dubbele verpakking zijn ook beschikbaar. Met behulp van gestandaardiseerde media die vervaardigd worden in gecontroleerde cleanroom omgevingen zorgt dit voor de volledige validatie van het RCS® Systems volgens ISO 14698-1/2. Elke individuele agar strip wordt in een hersluitbare koker gelast en 100% visueel gecontroleerd, waardoor een maximale veiligheid in kritieke omgevingen gegarandeerd kan worden. HYCON® Agar Strips worden gebruikt voor het controleren van omgevingslucht en samengeperste gassen met de RCS® High Flow Touch Microbial Air Sampler en de RCS® Isolator. Ze worden ook toegepast met de RCS® Plus Ex Microbial Air Sampler voor het controleren van een omgeving met explosiegevaar.

To minimise the risks associated with powdered culture media, the majority of Merck's dehydrated culture media is produced in granular form. Merck uses ingredients of non animal origin to minimise the potential risk of transmissible spongiform encephalitis (TSE). When there is no alternative, only ingredients which are recommended by EDQM, and belonging to TSE category B or C are used. This ensures that the product is of the highest quality and in compliance with the standards for food control, microbiological testing on finished products and starting materials, and quality control in the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries.
