Normaal gesproken kunnen er tot 5×10⁵ eucaryotische cellen of 5 mg weefsel worden gebruikt in één experiment, afhankelijk van het gebruikte weefseltype. Met deze set kunnen binnen 30 minuten één of meerdere monsters worden verwerkt. Fenol-/chloroformextracties en tijdrovende stappen zoals ultracentrifugering van CsCl-gradiënten en bezinking met isopropanol of LiCl zijn niet nodig. Gezuiverd RNA kan worden geëlueerd met 10 tot 15 µl nucleasevrij water.
